Ok, so, the thing is, I was picspamming Kali--over here, for the record and stuff--and I was lamenting not being able to do much with the 'caps from Collaborators. Because, frak, that scene was dark.

But the thing is, the thing is, they're still hot, even with the picture quality low. So I kinda felt the need to... spam. 29 'caps of The Kiss in Collabs. Y'know, that kiss that comes AFTER.... the breakup.

Tiptoe. You're right. How tall is Michael Trucco anyway? I know he's not as tall as Penikett, but that man's enormous, so using him as a measure is useless (I spent all of Season 1 thinking Penikett was normal-sized and Grace Park was a little thing). Trucco's never seemed that much taller than Bamber in close-ups, but given that whenever we see Bamber and Sackhoff together, they're almost the same height, maybe the directors routinely put Bamber on an apple box for close-ups.

Which isn't an insult to Bamber, who is a very cute wee little man. Also, what with Olmos also being wee, casting a guy who's on the short side totally makes sense. But we get so few opportunities to compare his height to that of the other guys on the show. They totally don't mind showing James Callis looking like a shortarse, but I guess Baltar and Lee don't really have the same image.

It's funny. It takes a scene like this to remind me that Sackhoff is medium height at most. She projects such a "big" presence in the role that I kind of expect her to be tall. It's a shock to see her looking all compact and petite as in these shots, rather than a killing machine with a larger than life attitude. Even though Collaborators is an ep where she's most potentially lethal (at any rate in the sense of being an unfocused killing machine wreaking random havoc on anybody she can hurt).

Trucco is 6'3", exactly Tahmoh's height. (the guy who plays Dresden is also that tall. I'd like to get them all in a room together and just stare)

Katee's 5'6" ot 7", iirc. And Jamie's 5'9", I think.

So, yeah. They put Jamie on a box, a lot. Also, they did a lot of stuff with him bending over to be all Forceful in Rapture and stuff.

I wonder why Penikett SEEMS taller. Could be because he's built like a tank while Trucco is slimmer.

I find it kind of unlikely that Jamie Bamber is actually 5'9" (alhtough we've just established that I'm not the best judge, so take that for what it's worth). I bet he's 5'9" for public purposes, but I wouldn't be surprised if his medical charts said 5'8". Hunky actors aren't supposed to be short, or at any rate aren't supposed to admit to it. Besides, I'm 5'7", I've met Sackhoff in person, and she was definitely a little shorter than me. And we were both in running shoes at the time, so I'm assuming that's her real height.

Okay, met is an overstatement. We were both jogging on the Stanley Park seawall. She looked kind of busy, so I was all Canadian and polite and pretended not to recognise her. Besides, in workout gear and all sweaty and close-up, she looked disturbingly Starbuck-ish... I like it better when actors are clearly acting nothing like their characters, especially when the character is one I have a massive crush on. It's just better all round.

Poor Bamber. He must enjoy having scenes with EJO. No boxes needed.

Yeah, Tahmoh's bulkier--this is not a bad thing, he just has more muscle. Trucco's wiry.

I was guessing on Jamie, actually. I know he and EJO are similar in height, and Katee is shorter than they are, but not by much.

Heheheh. Honestly, between Tahmoh and Trucco, the camera and lighting guys probably have far too much fun setting up shots to get everyone in the picture--maybe someone should have the Law and Order: Criminal Intent guys give 'em tips.

Lee is definitely not as tall as Anders (though I'd think more like 3-4 inches, unless Jamie's wearing lifts in his shoes), and Kara is shorter than he is.

The most obvious place where one can see Lee's Shrimpitude is in that confrontation at the end of EoJ. They're in each other's face, and poor Bamber totally has to look UP. A lot. Makes me laugh.

Oh, and in the beginning shots of Anders and Tyrol, note how Tyrol is always in the foreground. By at least two feet.

They really ought to have Helo and Anders hang out more. It'd be a lot easier to frame shots!

Katee claims 5'6" but she's actually a bit shorter than that, as I am (I recently learned) almost exactly 5'6" and Katee's a bit shorter than me. But only maybe half an inch or so.
