It's far beyond fandom. There's a matter of a retroactive TOS change, interpretation of an interest list as condoning/supporting the things listed, and quite a few troubling situations. I hardly care about it on a fandom level; I want to know why SA succumbed to Dominionist propaganda, why they deleted first without checking -- effectively warning true pedophiles while libeling innocent abuse victims and literary/fashion discussion communities.

I'm not angry about the 48-hour wait between the beginning of the suspension and notification from anyone who actually knew anything; but I'm concerned about notes to off-site press before bothering to make anything public at all. It just bred rumors and fury where a brief note of *something* could have brought some measure of calm.

I'm sorry Lyss, but to dismiss it as "oh, fandom's being tetchy again" is blind and quite frankly bullshit.

Plz to explain where I said I wanted blood. I would like more than what was given in that news post; it's a good start and their mea culpa is very welcome, but. I would like a clearer statement of policy, especially on the interests = likes thing that fed the purge. LJ is free to TOS whomever they want, it's a private company, but changing the rules ought to be public and announced first.

But hey, you can think whatever you like, whatever makes you happy. :)
