Why do Kara/Lee fans friend me? Most especially, why do the ones who think Sam is only a stepping stone to her being In True Love Forever with Lee friend me?

I'm pretty sure McKay/Sheppard and Jack/Daniel fans know better. Or if they don't, they never talk about it (hrm. Why don't I do SG meta? Oh, right, because other people do it better.)

Also, if Neil Tennant, Chris Lowe, Brian Eno and David Bowie should ever happen to construct an album together, it would be so made of awesome the world might end.

a good writer friend of mine asked me to rec her some good Doctor Who slash, as I dragged her into the fandom, and she is known in some circles as the queen of slash. but unfortunately, I had to confess to her that I had not really scouted out the Doctor Who slash. reason being - I follow good writers. those writers may happen to write slash and then I happily read.

I'm disturbed. I'm having to defend Kara from the Anders-fans on the Trucco board, and I'm having to defend Dee over here from the K/L shippers (and the Billy fans, come to think of it). OMG I can't win.

Why couldn't I hate Kara like 75% of the fandom? Then I wouldn't care.

Well, no, you're not all bad (I'd be throwing a stone in a glass house, considering I'm still a Sam/Jack 'shipper, and most of us are batshit insane). It's just that every so often, I come across Dee hate or Sam Is An Aberration comments, and it just... gets annoying. And I want to tear my hair out and hit my head a lot. And then shoot Ron in the head so it all ends.

And your friend might want to poke at the Torchwood comms, as I understand they're full of the slash (it's Jack, of course they are). Sadly, I can't even rec het in Who.

I consider myself exempt because I friended you before Anders and Kara even existed. So my misguided shipping tendencies deserve a free pass. :P

I don't get it either. I tend to feel the same way. Every once in a while I make these posts saying, "Look, now you all know how freaky rabid I am about Sam Carter, please feel free to defriend immediately because I know you weren't prepared for this."

But no one ever does. WTF? Because they know I'm never going to write Jack/Daniel, right?

True. I've got several people who've still clung, despite me shifting wildly from Comics to Farscape to Stargate to BSG... to Eureka to... er. Many things.

It's just the ones who wildly proclaim it and scare me like, say, Jaka, or Telkena, that worry me. Because I'm pretty firm in stating that I hate Kara/Lee. I'm not about to say it makes me sick, but it does annoy me.
