smile empty souuuulll...

So, I had like, a bunch of stuff I was going to be all snarky about, but I've been distracted by Little Red fic and Fandom Wank and such. AND OMG. I will be strong and not watch the BSG s3 preview bit, BECAUSE. Dude. I can do it. I can hack this, man. I can remain unspoiled.

Even if it kills me.

Oh, wait. Here....

1. Although, seriously, people. The sky is not falling if LJ goes sponsored. It'll just be ONE MORE THING with advertising. Get. A. Grip.

2. In political news, the sky is not falling, the world will not end, and everyone who isn't male and white will not suddenly be arrested as Enemies of the State.

3. Stop being on my side, you're making my side look like dippy idiots.

4. I have root beer.

5. I HAVE A NEW PHONE. Yes. This means I can now text message from anywhere in the hemispheres. BWAHAHAHAHAH. I just, ah, need to remember to put numbers in it.

6. Have I mentioned the new job lately? It's not bad. I'm still stuck in the Coldest Room EVER, with the door that opens onto the factory floor. But on the second floor, and thus, if I stepped out, I'd break something... Thus, it is loud as fuck.

7. I'm not homophobic because I broke your fucking chain letter, so fuck off.

8. Am I the only one who says 'holy frakinoli'? I bet I am. I should make it fanon and have Sam say it, or something. Carter or Anders. 'cause. Yeah.

9. Having Smile Empty Soul's 'Finding Myself' followed by Nickelback's 'Savin' Me' is kind of like following Beethoven's 'Fur Elise' with Beethoven's 'Fur Elise'... The lyrics are a bit different, though.

10. The Punisher soundtrack is all kinds of fabulously emo whiteboy rock. With one or two really shitty songs thrown in. And Queens of the Stone Age doing 'Never Say Never'. (omg. I could listen to that on repeat. A lot.)

11. Iron Fist has the best ass in the Marvel universe.

12. I should probably get around to listening to the messages on our machine tonight.

13. NCIS squee in a bit, as we watched the two episodes, finally. (ZIVA. JEN. ABBY. Can I have all of them, please? And how MUCH do I love that Jen's bit in the opening credits includes the clip of her loading her gun?)

OH. ALSO. 14. On a Lynley sidenote (YES, I have been watching, and yes, I have been enjoying...), I would ship Havers/the ME guy, EXCEPT THAT HE IS MARRIED. If he weren't married, he'd be perfect. They could talk about work, and have awkward silences until he'd realize he'd have to kind of be the girl, and then he'd make her watch atrociously bad teevees and she'd mock his taste. And then they'd have really awkward sex and not speak for a week until there was another murder she was on with Lynley, and he'd be like, "er..." and she'd tell him she'd done some reading, and finding things wasn't that hard and would he like another go. Then she'd turn bright red and run away.

Resist the BSG temptation! Be strong! Consider divorcing yourself from the Internet until Friday! (Yeah, I considered that one for half a second before laughing a lot.)

The toughest part is going to be watching the last two webisodes without clicking on the next link over.

*sits on hands*

Yay, root beer!

! *hugs you* For you are the saneness in a sea of crazies. ... *looks around* Not that anyone on my flist is crazy or anything. But the crazies are out there!

I saw a BSG promo while watching Heroes tonight. I had no idea it was coming and it was over before I could go "Hey, what, no, huh?" I was left more confused than spoiled, oddly enough.

14. OMG. Hee! INspector Lynley convert! Wheeee!

I hate that they made him married. They have an evil plan to never let Havers get any EVER.

*clings*

It is a bit confusing. And, I know some spoiler stuff, but I've been trying not to be tempted, because it's more fun not knowing everything (even if I can make large guesses).

Actually, I've been a fan for several years, except that the books are radically different from the show, and I kept being irritated at what they'd cut out (I'll admit the worst was shoe-horning Lynley--who was BARELY in the book--into 'Deception on His Mind' was mostly what pissed me off, because the book really IS all Havers', and then to just have Lynley There was... ARGH. Yeah. Can't watch that one). And, actually, I'm looking forward to seeing how they did Playing for the Ashes, one of these days, as it's told all wonky in the book.

YES. I kept flailing and being all, "OMG. You're both dorks, ASK EACH OTHER OUT ALREADY" and then he said he was married, and I cried in irritation. (obviously, Barbara needs to have a brief affair with Mark Rivers before he runs off to OSC)

BITE ME, oh leader of the Conspiracy Du Jour.

OK,i'll share,just for you! :)

I had the same problem! I've never read the book, but if it's the episode I'm thinking about, then I got very pissed because somehow an episode that started wonderful and Havers-centric somehow STILL managed to work it's way around to being about Tommy jumping on rooves! Grrrr.

8. Sounds like a dangerous and possibly obscene pasta. Which should go well wth fragberries.
