facing the truth
Was poking at Fandom High, and realized one of the reasons I don't play so much. I'm not a plotter. Not, really. I'm more free-for-all (hence, why Sages has my soul) and random. FH requires... plot. And Character Arcs. And shit like that. And, y'know, I've already done collaborative RP'ing before, they were called Subreality Round Robins. And they were a fuck of a lot more fun and less restrictive.
Not, of course, that I didn't get ignored or sidelined, or not required there, either. I will always have fond memories of being responsible for 1/3 of the deaths of the third Halloween Massacre. *sniffle*
The other thing that gets me is this requirement that you have to have everything cleared. Want a random conversation with someone? Don't actually do what you'd do in real life and go talk to them. Instead, you have to email them and clear it with them, first. And you'd better make damned sure your topic of conversation is ok for them.
Now, I get that it's nice to know in advance for some things. But, much like RL, in FH, you CAN IGNORE PEOPLE. Don't care who it is, don't care what. I've certainly been the recipient enough to know that most people will get the fucking hint.
(on a sidenote, to Mr. Constant Gardner: you are not Harrison fucking Chase, so please STEP OFF and go back where you came from. Or, you know, kill yourself for passing up the opportunity to talk to a living plant)
So, why am I still in the game? Because I still, occasionally, have fun.
And now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to write posts for XG, the game that is supremely laid-back and fucking fun.
