icons: last contest post

This's it. Last contest icons from me (er, unless it's fs contest, because that's occasionally amusingly like shooting fish in a barrel). As I was bitching the other night to Timey, she pointed out I didn't need to submit to contests. And she's right. I won't be wasting 15 minutes anymore.

Lys, I wasn't going to say anything, but why are you pissed at icon contests? The winning icons are always elected by popular vote. Sure, a percentage of them are bad sometimes... but the margin for good outweighs that.

You may think I'm a bitch (or well, near enough) for saying this, but do you actually want crit on your icons or not? I know I'm not a perfect icon maker and I'm stil learning before I can crit others, but if you've lost faith this way in icon contests, then it couldn't hurt to receive feedback, could it?

Unimpressed is the word, actually. Irritated, possibly. When I go to vote, and the only ones I'd even vote for are mine--which are (depending) pretty damned ugly, anyway--there's no point in me staying on board.

It's less a matter of wanting critique and more a matter of knowing my taste doesn't match others'.
