comics! comics! comics!

OMG. Real comic reviews!
Cable & Deadpool #20: Mwahahahahah. Oh, Fabian.
Kitty Pryde #4: Hee. Oops.
Black Widow #1: OMG. OMG. This is how you do black ops shit. OMG. (also, YAY, the second LS!)

Cable and Deadpool #20: Bosom Buddies part 1

The cover is... Well, it's cheesecake. But I had to love it if only for the hips.

Recap page: Only Fabian would get away with 'snatch'. That was fucking fabulous, and made me laugh.

Rest: To balance out the girl-cheesecake, we get Wade without pants, and Nate without a shirt. Sadly, Wade doesn't put his pants on immediately, and Nate puts his shirt on after four panels. Nate does, however, get to use his "I'm a Bastard" face. If this hasn't been scanned, I will poke Timey into doing it.

PLOTWISE. Because, you know, it's a comic, and it isn't just pretty pictures (it isn't!). Nice follow-on from last issue, and building up to a new arc. There's about three plotlines, and they're all handled nicely (not to mention the day-to-day of Providence's admin being mentioned!), even if Wade gets most of it.

Wade, btw, ran out of laundry. I totally believe this.

*snickers* This has to be, hands-down, one of the funniest books EVER.

Kitty Pryde: Shadow and Flame #4

This one's a little more serious, but a bit on the lightonplotside. It's not bad, but it's not... Well, it ain't Fabian. I do like it, though. Because it's not teenybopper crap, and it's fairly intelligent.

Kitty plays hardball, and almost phases someone's heart out of their chest (omg! I AM FUCKING CANON), and then accidentally kills someone. Cough... Actually, I think she phased his pacemaker. *sads*

The page with the local cops was hard to read as I kept hearing them in Ghost in the Shell voices. Chief, Batou, and the Major. *snicker*

I may have to sit down and review this whole LS when it's done.

Black Widow: The Things They Say About Her #1
Oh, wow. Gorgeous. They pick up practically right where they left off, and we have fallout, people. This is what happens in real life, it's not all boxed up and pretty, with no loose ends. There's still people who have to pay for the crap 'heroes' do.

Sadly, 'Tasha has nowhere to run and ends up bunking with Yelena, ex-Black Widow, and current kingpin of the Cuban underwear modeling industry.

There's some nice stuff about economics, lots of NICE politics.

And, oh, god, body count! Er. I like body counts?

More loose ends. MWAH. I love this.

*happysigh* PLEASE can we have more kick-ass women like this?

ALSO. What is it with people catering to my kinks about sweaty women hitting punching bags wearing sports bras??? First Kara, now 'Tasha. AR!

Is the Pryde book supposed fit into canon anywhere? Keep track of the X-Men 'verse makes my head hurt, but I love the characters.

I honestly have no idea. I'm not sure I really care, since in my own canon, Scott is not shacking up with Emma Frost.

Aww...I like Emma. But then my introduction to comicsverse is fairly recent.

I like Emma fine. I like Scott fine. But this travesty of characterization (and, no, I haven't read it, but even hearing about it says 'travesty of characterization' to me, and yes, I'm being overblown) makes me shudder. Marvel doesn't actually believe in continuity, btw.

So I've heard. Even with my limmited experience I look at Scott and Emma together and have to shrug. An affair? Ok...maybe. But this sort of long term, running the school together long term thing is...odd. I like them together, but I could see how it would drive long term readers 'round the bend.
