eta: in the interests of being fair, I was never much of a journalist. I would have sucked as a reporter, because I would get bored really fast. Although at least my slant and bias would have been liberal...

I must add a "me too" here. The conspircay theorist in me actually thinks that TPTB asked him to say something like that just to silence the Sam/Jack shippers and slashers, as all the wank was probably scaring them.

Personally, I think it would quite funny if actually true.
