SF Friday thoughts.

SG-1: Hee hee hee.
'Lantis: ...those bastards.
BSG: Sigh. Politics. BORING.

Okay, so, once I get past the whole "going back in the past is stupid", this is a fun episode. This is basically the writers saying "we're going to have fun, and screw everyone else."

Seriously. This was a fun episode. Just disengage your brain. And now I want to write Sam/Jack stuck in the desert, hating each other.

Daniel and Sam as geeks was... kind of pathetic. Sam? Really needs to be shot. She was Chloe from Avenger 2.0. Daniel was somewhat amusing. I liked Hammond, he was very General-y and had the best interests of the planet at heart. Loved him. Hated Rodney, Mr. Hands-On. Of course, mouse!Sam has no gumption to kick his ass.

Jack and his boat were amusing. Why did Jack have a random boat?

'Lantis.
...well, that was ok. But, seriously, again, WHY do we give a shit about the Wraith? They're... pathetic.

Teyla hitting Bates? Best moment of the episode.

The rest of it was kinda stupid.

BSG
Lee. A note from someone who is smarter. DON'T SHOW YOUR FUCKING HAND. Ever. Zarek only knew you had his man because you TOLD him. Dipshit. This is me smacking you upside the frelling head.

For everyone who keeps asking. ELLEN killed the man in his cell. Who else could have gotten close enough to him to accomplish it?

Loved Starbuck kicking ass in the fight AND getting the gun. The dress was amusing, and I want to know who she bribed to get it (my money's on Dualla, I bet Dee knows where to get shit like a dress). And she so is never going to wear a dress ever again.

Hated the politics. Was bored as fuck with the newscasters. Nice swipe at the current liberal politics, I suppose. *sarcasm*

Was really mostly bored. Although I do want to rewatch every Starbuck scene.

'cause, well... sex on a stick, even in that dress.

Helo has finally seen the light. *sniggers*

Shit. In all the arguments about The Dress, no one ever mentioned Dee. Hmm.

....wha? You people underestimate Our Girl. She Knows what the frak is goin' on, man. *saddened*

The sad thing is that I had more to say, and forgot it between shows.

Ellen killed him? Shit, really??? *sarcasm* Did someone seriously not realise that?

So I may have downloaded it, instead of waiting to watch with the rest of Australia. And it wasn't to indulge in an evil new ship. No really.

*sigh* That dress rocked, though.

I say this means she's a Cylon....

(and, er, apparently, I'm the only one who thinks that?)

The dress was ugly as shit, but somehow, just *works* on our girl.

[identity profile] redstarrobot.livejournal.com 2005-03-19 07:16 am (UTC)(link)
I thought it was obvious that she was last week, when the test came back "negative".

hee. Yeah... *prods at fic* Hrm.

[identity profile] livilla.livejournal.com 2005-03-19 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh, hey, I like that idea! Although, it may just be cooler if she's just exceptionally evil. I don't know.

This is true. It boggles the mind.

(And the dancing was cute, damn it!)

[identity profile] thekatebeyond.livejournal.com 2005-03-19 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
That's a good point, actually. I've been thinking yes to Cylon, but it would be better if she turned out to be just. that. wicked.

[identity profile] thekatebeyond.livejournal.com 2005-03-19 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Hated Rodney, Mr. Hands-On.

Resisting the urge to snarl, remembering that this is Alt-time Rodney, and therefore making allowances. However, if you were to say something so harsh about the real Rodney, I might have to claw you.

(I'd kiss it better afterwards.)
ext_18106: (Jo - it's the job)

[identity profile] lyssie.livejournal.com 2005-03-19 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
...I'm the only one who saw the ass-grabbing as something that was bad, apparently.

huh. okay.

[identity profile] ianmcin.livejournal.com 2005-03-20 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
I was actually kind of disappointed that Rodney and Alt-time Rodney seemed so similar, what with the obvious changes to Sam and Daniel "Worst ESL Teacher evah" Jackson. Thinking about it afterwards, I think I would have written him as being a lot more excited about getting his hands on the time-ship, as though he'd been supremely bored up until the moment the ship was delivered.

As intriguing as a non-Cylon, straight up evil Ellen Tigh would be, the fact that she's making plans for Sol's future (clearly intending him to replace Adama at some point in the future), and arranged a romantic getaway to the Rising Star at the same time that

*SPOILER FOR NEXT WEEK'S EP, BASED ONLY ON THE PREVIEW*

Six tells Baltar that getting the frek off the Galactica would be a damn good idea,

*END SPOILER*

definitely argues that she's either a Cylon, or at least being influenced by them, ala Baltar.

[identity profile] livilla.livejournal.com 2005-03-20 01:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't seen enough of her yet to guess whether or not she is, but it would be cool if there was someone who was just that coldhearted and evil.

[identity profile] livilla.livejournal.com 2005-03-20 01:48 pm (UTC)(link)
*nods* I can defintely see the Cylon angle then. We've only seen up to Act of Contrition so Ellen hasn't even shown up yet. We do know there are more Cylons or at least Cylon agents out there.

This is the man who, in the Atlantis episode The Brotherhood, nearly had a panic attack when Shepherd told him the archeologist chick had a thing for him, who looked like he was going to keel over the one time Sam kissed him on the cheek. For all that he can talk a big game, the real Rodney is terrified of women. I thought grabby Rodney with the Mr. Fantasy t-shirt was a great choice for a difference -- as opposed to Paul Davis, who just grew a mustache.
