Yep, I see. That last paragraph especially is exactly how I see your Jack. I've always thought that Sam would gladly break the regs and risk her career for Jack, but that he was the one drawing that line in the sand and warning her not to cross it. He knows, but just isn't willing to be the one to take Carter down. Not when the war needs her so badly. It's really like he's the key and the strength to the whole thing. If he caves, I think she follows rather quickly. But maybe that's only the later seasons' Sam. When I think about early Sam, I don't get quite the same vibe. Hmm.
