In my salad days... la di da....
Oh, today has been SUCH fun....
Woke up. Went to school. Panicked madly all through the test and homework.
Sat the panic off in the newsroom and caught up with events there.
Had coffee.
Ran errands.
Drove like an idiot.
I mean, this was bad driving. Bad. So bad I pulled myself over and gave me a five minute Time Out.
When you run the red light you didn't even see...
Found the Post Office--after finally going into the bank and finding out it was--literally--down the lane. Sigh.
Threns! Pay attention to your mail in 5-6 days. They said 6-10, but I'm betting they'll do it early. If I know MY luck...
Speaking of luck, on the way through Forest Park, I got pulled over (for real, this time). He was a very nice cop. Figured out I was on my way to work, saw I had a clean license (Yes, being boring is good for something), and sent me on my way with a bemused, "Try to go slower."
Methinks he wasn't clocking me. Methinks he just saw me going what was probably way too fast, and pulled me over anyway.
Methinks my Karma is sending out a balance.
See, I speed. A lot. Enough so that I tend to always be going at least 10 over the limit on the highway. I clocked myself at 90 this morning. Sigh.
I have this theory, though. For every x amount of hours I speed, I get pulled over.
The last time this happened was DexCon three years ago. Right outside of Philly, the cop got us in morning traffic. Me, Kale and Samy. In a rental car.
I was going... oh... 15? over the limit.
I was mildly bored by the proceedings.
The reason?
Earlier that day I'd been doing upwards of 100mph, going through the long boring drive that is Pennsylvania. I didn't get pulled over.
So. Karma? Balance?
I sort of believe it.
Anyway. Forgot to put a letter to Thren in the package, so I started writing one at work.... And doodling (badly).
I am so sad.
Sadly, school is not open tomorrow.
Hrm.
Oh. Yes.
Anyway. I started a comic strip. About super heroes. Angst. Fights. Vibrant colours. Vegetables....
I call it, (until I find out this is taken) "Salad Days"
Gods help us all.
