Sam Carter. Apparently steals peoples' ideas and claims them as her own. Since I've never seen this in canon, and only recently started to come across it in fic (badly-written fic, at that), I wanted to know where the basis for it is in canon.

Morons are getting this concept from McKay when he snarked that at her in Redemption ("you steal everyone's ideas!!!") cuz he's just a bastard. But WE LOVE HIM DEARLY.

What Sam DOES DO is piggyback on other people's ideas (namely Jack and Daniel, sometimes Teal'c, ocassionally Jonas) and think of something awesome. But she always credits them. ALWAYS. She is never "OMG I SAVED THE WORLD"; recall the way she reacts to the "you blew up a sun, omfg" comments.

Speaking of, have you seen Citizen Joe? PErfect example of her LACK OF HUBRIS in that one.

I vaguely remember occasions where they've been sitting around saying "hell, we screwed now, whatever can we do?" at which point the dialogue will go something like:

Jack: Maybe we could just throw rocks at it.
Sam: Actually, sir, that's brilliant! We can rig a self-accuating charge *launches into long technical explanation*
Jack: uh huh *tries to look like he knows what she's talking about*
