hrm

Apparently, this has not been the year for cars in my family. Or year and a half, starting last January.

My car was stolen. My sister's car was in an accident and then died. Twice. And then was stolen, like, the week she got it back.

My brother wrapped his car around a pole (he's fine) and had to get a new one.

Dad's car died sometime last month (the axle fell out).

And sometime during the last week (my family not being renowned for their communication skills), my sister Katye and her husband Nate were sideswiped by a truck.

The saturn they were driving is pretty, um, tissue-papered. 5000 dollars of damage or some such. And they didn't have the right insurance (pity). Oddly enough, it was the last day they were going to drive it, because Nate's parents were giving them a car. And the original plan was that Shai and I would inherit the saturn.

Welll... Not anymore.

Sigh. Apparently, it's now my turn. I'm dreading this.

Maybe mom will catch it next.

That sure is a lot of accidents involving cars for your family. At least no one has been seriously hurt. Man, but getting used to a new car is a pain, too.

The, uhm, axle fell out? I didn't know they could do that.

I think it was rust.... I'm not sure, since I wasn't, uh, there. It's a highly disturbing concept, I must say.

And. Honestly? After having one car's transmission fall out on us I believe just about anything. *g*
