Saga of the Box Spring....
I was reminded this afternoon that I never got round to writing the Saga... out.
So. I shall detail it here.
When Shai and I moved into the apartment, there was quite a bit of stuff left in storage, including a twin mattress and boxsprings. We've slowly been moving it to the apartment over the last two weeks.
On Sunday, we moved the bed. Now, the mattress went fine, because it's slightly squishy, and with Moya's second seat folded in, it fit through from the trunk.
But the boxprings was half an inch too wide, and not squishy at all.
So we had to tie it on top of my car.
Moya has a curved roof.
Actually, it went rather easily. The boxprings was flopped on top of my car, it was wrapped with rope, and it was tied tightly. A line of bungee cords completed the ensemble. And we drove home.
It never slipped. It bounced a bit, and wiggled. And bobbed on the curve, but it didn't slip.
Cool, huh?
Of course, if we'd been hit with a stiff breeze, we might have gone hang-gliding...
