Staring at faces by the Serpentine...

Walked the dog again.

It's a strange experience, walking here at night. There's one streetlight to cover the whole 'block' of houses (...20 or so? Maybe more? Large lots, too). And so it's like walking in almost pitch dark at times, because the trees are overhead just enough to cut down on starlight and moonlight. Not to mention the ambient city light from not too far away cutting upwards.

So it's almost like walking in a cave, with bits of light and bits of dark. Houses versus trees versus the stupid pickup parked in my way four houses down.

I take the heavy duty flashlight from the trunk of Moya, and Seth and I saunter down the left driveway. From there it's to the circle, then back past the house to the stop sign.

We're in the middle of the block again. It feels very strange.

Because it's so quiet here. Oh, there's the sound of the highway (55 is about half a mile from here), but there's no... no gunshots, no idiots at 3 am honking their horns to get their drug fix. No dumbasses walking down the street shouting at each other... No hooker living next door forgetting which house to send her clients to.

I think I like it.
