Thefted from AJ...
What was I doing...
20 years ago (1983)? Hrm... 83, was a year after my sister, Kat was born. I was 5 going on 6. I had my birthday at McDonald's which was, y'know, the Height of Birthday Parties back then. Mom and dad were just then deciding to home school us, so I was pulled out at the end of May.
Fandom: Er. Star Wars, I think. And we were just getting introduced to Doctor Who at this point. Somewhere in there was also Classic Trek. Not involved in ANY fanfom, though.
10 years ago (1993)? We'd moved back from Florida, and were moving from one house to the other (landlord screwed us over).
Fandom: Firmly involved with Doctor Who and Blake's 7, but I was tiring of Next Gen. I thought DS9 might not be--wait. Had it started by now? I don't remember anymore. Not that it matters. Went to a con in '92, but wasn't involved with fandom as yet.
5 years ago (1998)? Hrm. In school, by now. I was taking classes for Broadcasting and diving headlong into online groups to escape the internal strife of the CIA. Which falls somewhat under fandom, but I really had no other life.
Fandom: See above... I'd discovered Comicbook fanfiction, branching off of Buffy. I was heavily into Excalibur and the X-Men. Doctor Who and Blake's 7 were still up there. This was the year of the last Visions, and one of my last Media Cons with the group I knew in St. Louis. I'd gone in and out of DS9, loathed even the idea of Voyager, and avoided Highlander and Forever Knight and B5. (time constraints, more than anything else)
3 years ago (2000)? Still living at home. Realising, about now, that I loathe the broadcasting industry. I'm still doing journalism stuff, though, to finish up my degree.
Fandom: X-Men, Buffy, Doctor Who, Blake's 7, a bit of this, a bit of that--Red Dwarf. I was firmly entrenched online by now, and writing the beginnings of Marya, with great encouragement.
1 year ago? Still not dead. Much happier, now that I've got all of my credits, even if I keep forgetting to apply them. Taking computer classes, and kicking their asses.
Fandom: Same as before, really, with Farscape on the fringes, even though I'd only seen one episode. So far.
Yesterday? Cleaning my room, vacuuming my rug, eyeing my bookshelves and wondering how the HELL I'm going to pack them all... And wishing my parents were gone for a week, so I really had time. Plus, reeling from 22 episodes of Farscape. Two whole seasons, now. I've seen everything but season 3.
Fandom: Er. Same as before, but with a hell of a lot of Farscape. And Firefly, and less Buffy and Angel. Much less. *shudder* And some ReBoot, and a smidgeon of Highlander, X-Files, Babylon 5, and one or two others sneaking in.

And my jaw is waking up. Ow. More dental work, yes. Why don't we have dentics here?
