I can't hold on to it....

So. I've now seen TTT again.

That's only twice, for those counting. I picked up some stuff that I didn't last time. Mostly the Arwen/Aragorn implications--which makes sense, since those work best if you've seen... the extended FotR.

Pod Faramir was again irritating. There's a point where you stop going, "Oh, he's sort of nifty." and go, "Well, flonq. Thanks for screwing that character with a chainsaw."

I still have to mock the ignorance of Dunharrow. I mean. Duh. And when the column is attacked, Theoden does what? He sends ALL OF THE HORSEMEN to the FRONT. Which means, there's suddenly this long, unprotected section of column. GREAT thinking there, Theo.

Sadly, Saruman's people didn't take advantage of that (or had planned it that way. I thought they were just a Leeetle more intelligent)

Eomer, though. When Eomer and Friends surround the Three Rescuers, Eomer never introduces himself. Yet, later on, Aragorn talks about him as if the conversation ran far longer. Please, god, let there be extra on the DVD. Like, say, the Gimli comments about Galadriel.

Osgiliath. It's pretty, it's cute, and they're on the wrong damned side of the Anduin. Er. River. See, Ithilien, where Gollum was leading them through, is on the EAST side of the River. At some point while they're in Osgiliath, Faramir is told, "The orcs have taken the east bank." Hell, they're FIRING on the east bank.

So. How do Sam and Frodo get back across the river, so they can be led onwards by Stinker and Slinker?

Also. Still hate Sam's response. Why are they doing it? Hope. Duh. Hope. Each other. Life itself. Not "that there might be good in places/people" Gah.

So. Second viewing is good. Viewing the Extended FotR makes the second viewing better, since some of the things in the TT don't make sense without the scenes in XFotR....
