moving over the water

1. I did my taxes on time, go me. Even if I went with a different service this year.

2. Still working from home. As 5/1 is a Europe holiday, MEC day one was pushed to Monday. That was... interesting. I was ahead of everything this time. yay.

3. Big Fish games did another one of their BOGO free sales over the weekend. I grabbed some more entertaining things. I also bought some stuff on Steam a bit ago. The haul I've played and what I think:
- Endless Fables: Minotaur's Curse. Entertaining and silly at times, I've played it twice through and enjoyed it both.
- Endless Fables: Frozen Time. I'm on my second play-through, and I miss Ariadne's Thread, but I enjoyed the rest.
- Endless Fables: Dark Moor. Nightmare fuel, a couple of times (the pumpkin thing on the ROAD. AUGH. And the teddy bear.) I am so pleased to have caught the Kelpie early on, too.
- Endless Fables: Shadow Within. Not quite as nightmare fuel, but there are some excellent, weird-ass dream world visuals in this one. Also, there's an in-game post-card from Sarah Pennington! Which makes no sense, since the first one is set in Paris, 1886 or so, and Sarah is modern-day. Perhaps they visit during time machine silliness.
- Grim Tales: The Generous Gift. Alice, Anna's daughter, is kidnapped by a mad scientist who wants to cure mutants. Once I stopped giggling at the plot, I enjoyed playing. Also, they made Dorian, Anna's husband, a bit hotter (he was driving a motorcycle and seems to just be a house-husband); in addition, Dorian Black took Anna's last name. For political/established name reasons, but also so they could lampshade him as Dorian Gray. *giggling forever*

I really liked the Endless Fables games, and am crossing my fingers for more. Same with the Haunted Manor, really. I need more of those, too.

4. Big Finish audio are doing weekly free episodes + sales, I think this week is the Jenny series. I haven't actually managed to listen to that one outside of part of the first episode. But I'm told it's good.

I did snag a bunch of Torchwood just so I could listen to my team again. (I MISS THEM)
rose_griffes: Ninth Doctor, TARDIS (fantastic!)

Someone else reminded me of Torchwood today and I felt a pang of nostalgia. And I never really watched--just a handful of episodes and the Children of Earth run.

I should look into more audio... stuff. Now that I'm doing a lot more gardening and crafting and general assembling of things. I put a garden shelf together the other day, and today it was MAH FIRST GRILL! So I grilled hot dogs after finishing the assembly.

Aaaaaah, ripping TV or films for audio is a fantastic idea; I'm good at visual memory IF there are audio cues. (One time I was on a long drive and some radio station was broadcasting the audio of the film Titanic--a movie that I am not even fond of--but somehow the audio-only was the perfect accompaniment for a road trip. Kept me focused enough to not get sleepy when it was getting dark.)
