There was another Nancy Drew movie very recently based on Hidden Staircase and it...wasn't bad in the bit I saw but was so thoroughly modern and "cool modern girls" (except apparently Bess is a bullied Super Nerd?) and I hope the teen girls it was aimed for loved it but it was too outside my interests so i wished it well and watched something else. Agreed re: the Emma Roberts movie getting it.

I watched all the Ms Fisher eps as they aired and while not amazing, the first is probably the weakest. The triangle really only exists in the guys' heads, and the ex boyfriend is put on a bus at the end of the second episode. Not nearly as good as the Phryne series, of course.
