I'm so tangled

Or possibly Torchwooded.

anyway.

Why did the universe (at large, not specificially DW/LJ) inform me there is a new Bletchley Circle thing? It's apparently set in the US. Which What. But whatever. IT IS MY GIRLS. Or some of them. And some new ones. It's not finished... doing it's thing yet, so I don't know.

I saw Ocean's 8. It was brilliant. I doubt it did well enough for a sequel. But for a brief, shining, moment, I had a movie I actually enjoyed watching. With hot women. I personally ship all of them.

Together.

Except the incest, because no.

I broke down and bought myself tequila on the way home today. Month end is like a never-ending nightmare of suck.

I was bored and started playing one of those hidden object games. I am very picky about them. I don't like voices in my games, but I put with it for the never-ending ridiculous adventures of Aunt Gray and her family. The Grim Tales series is highly entertaining, especially if you just assume that Auntie keeps having Luisa set herself up to catch bad supernatural creatures (Luisa is not quite Sophie, of course). John, Luisa's husband, is a bit useless, though. And their son is the most idiotic child.

The Bride, The Legacy, and Bloody Mary are the best of the ones I've played so far (Bloody Mary is absolutely gorgeous and a mini-horror/suspense flick all on its own). Also, I still say Luisa's kid was way cuter as a wolf puppy.

I gave The Secret Order games a try, but they're not so good (way way WAY too much voice-acting and interaction required).

Same goes for the abandoned circus one -- that one was also just shit because most of it seemed to be endless hidden object scenes.

Regained Castle was all right, except for the part where I sympathized entirely with the 'bad guy', and was disappointed there wasn't a way for her to win. Also, the incest at the end was really gross.

My favorite game, so far, has been Sacra Terra: Angelic Night. Evil mental institution! Tons of Gothic Architecture! The seven deadly sins as demons! Highly entertaining and really pretty. Only downside is the last two demons are defeated too close together. And the bonus game sucks and is pointless.

So.... that's most of the state of me. And what I've been doing. Or not doing.

It took me a minute to figure out what you meant by incest in Ocean's 8, because Nine Ball's little sis is only on screen for thirty seconds.

Are these games tablet, PC, or console? I haven't tried any hidden objects games, but some of your descriptions sound intriguing.

PC-based, but I think there are tablet games out there, too.

Big Fish games is where I found most of them - and they have demos you can try. And Steam was where I purchased some of them (Steam doesn't have all of the Grim Tales ones, so I ended up with accounts at both)

Steam is also usually less expensive. But I took advantage of sales on both sites.

Sacra Terra is here:

Thanks! I'll have to check them out. (Trying to overcome my WoW addiction.)
