HEY!

Everyone seems to be having fun painting #subcafe as a den of power-hungry people all chopping bits off each other.

It's a place where people argue every minute of the day!

And, they kick and maim and throw things at each other!

And, it's such a load of bullshit.

Do you people who would rather see a load of newbies even listen to yourselves?

It's like hearing a bunch of critics--people who didn't have ANYTHING to do with a movie--talk about the movie like they know everything about it.

You don't. You're not there 24/7 day in and day out to see what goes on.

Instead, you take one TINY little section in HOURS and HOURS of otherwise NON-ABRASIVE comments and discussions, and you make it sound like we're nothing but a bunch of people-bashing morons.

*BUZZ*

Wrong answer.

See, I must be coming online at the wrong times. I rarely see arguments. And if I do, they're usually Sparky/Lynx playfights, or reasoned and calm discussions. Much like the religion one from last night.

That discussion descended rapidly into chaos, though.

See, we (mainly, they, though) started discussing religion and sports, and it was funny.

But, hey, if laughter isn't what you want to hear, I guess that's the reason you'd rather the populated by a channel of boring new people.

Of course, we haven't had ANY of those in a few months.

So, really. Y'know, whatever.

I don't know what to tell you.

I got jumped on for a "spelling error."

I said it was a typo.

The person who corrected me said they didn't believe it was, and that I was doing it to be kewl.

Another op jumped in and was subsequently also pooh-poohed.

And then people jumped in behind the person who said they were innocently correcting my spelling, ignoring I'd said it was a typo. I have this habit of typing magick and magickal from my days as a roleplayer, and from reading fantasy. So when I speak of magic in that setting, I tend to use the K, which is an accepted spelling idiosynchracy.

The problem being, the person jumped on me, was asked not to, and kept jumping.

This, at least, is what I had the problem with.

I don't know what anyone else's problem is.

Maybe your presence is a calming factor. I am not saying I see arguments and nastiness all the time, but I do see it at least once a day, and I'm only on for about 3-5 hours a day now with my current work schedule.

Hate to say it... but if it's happening when *you're* on... and not when the rest of us are... perhaps the problem is A) you over react, or B)you *are* the problem. *shrug* Because I'm sure *all* of us can't be wrong in thinking this just *isn't* the problem you've been making it out to be.

No, since it's not always me it happens to.

And when it happens to me, it's usually the same two people every time.

I get along just ducky with the vast, vast majority of the #subcafe crowd which is why it doesn't sit well to be told I'm overreacting when I have a complaint with one of the two people who frequently give me static.

Your pardon, Lyssie.
