AHAHAH. At the moment, I think there's actually LESS climax with my version. But that's possibly because to do it justice and not be handwavey, I'd need another week of plotting out the damned thing (I might get hit later on with more inspiration, but right now, I have to rip apart three scenes and reconstitute them) sigh. whyisthisnevereasy.
