sff: In Plain Sight
I have to give the new writers points: they killed Mary/Raph in three episodes. Damn, that was quick.
To be honest, it's not like I ever had illusions that the two of them would last, but I really wasn't expecting the surgical strike, there. I really thought there'd be more, y'know, build-up. That Raph would be allowed to have a personality... Fancy expecting that.
I'm sure there are hundreds of happy Mary/Marshall shippers out there, glad that the stupid 'Chico' is now gone.
The problem is, of course, that this idea of the One, Perfect, Mate is such fucking bullshit I CAN'T EVEN begin to do more than rage about it. Not to mention, that for the witness dude, it wasn't love, it was stalker tendencies. Of course, his ex-girlfriend WOULD TOTALLY put her life ON HOLD for HER MAN. And since she didn't, OMG THAT SLUT. And she can't even manage to fight for her family. That entire scene turned my fucking stomach. I sincerely would not care if he got shot again. Maybe the bullet would kill him, this time.
Brandi is gone. No shocker there. Jinx is moving on with her life, hurray for her! =D
And
I also do like that Mary went to her mother. I wonder if this is the first time Mary has EVER needed Jinx, and gone to her for comfort. How different they are compared to two years ago, when the mere thought of her mother made her run and hide. Their relationship has evolved, and I like it, even if I don't like the reason for it.
As for Raph... sigh. He's another man who walked out on Mary. :/ Good job, show. (I just wish I could believe they were doing it because it works for the characters and not because a married With Issues female lead is something they don't want to deal with on the show)

I can't really hold Brandi's exist against them as the actress is pregnant and on maternity leave. Hopefully she won't be gone too long. I really liked Jinx in this episode. I feel like they're getting the family dynamic really well this season.
Allison is good so far. I was afraid of what they were going to do there, but this works for me so far.
As for the rage...um, yeah. Right there with you. I don't really want to talk about it though. I need to go to bed and that will just get me all riled up.

Maybe Jinx won't move out now? I mean it takes awhile to save up enough to get your own place. And Brandi is coming back. Eventually.
What are they doing to my show?
In other news what do you think about the promos for the new CIA show in July? I kept going "It's Jake!" myself, but it does look fun.

Well. If it were the previous writing crew, I'd trust them to not screw this up (sort of the way I trust David Kemper of Farscape). But this new crew? I don't know yet.

It sort of depends on the show. I'm a really contrary person, so if the show is shoving a pairing in my face, I am WAY less likely to ship them (exceptions: Brennan/Booth? Jo/Roper)
OH. That makes a lot more sense, and I hope she has an easy time of it (not that I was ever blaming her, but, y'know). I am glad that the family is evolving.

What are they doing to my show?
I don't know, but I'm sort of waiting and hoping a great deal that it won't slide more and more into "Look at this Wacky Case of the Week!" and completely ignore everything else.
I'm torn on the Mary/Marshall issue more because it was such an overt part of the first two seasons that I'm not sure they can back off without, well, ok, it would be somewhat refreshing if it were the male counterpart being all OMG I AM SO JELUS about the female dating other guys.
I still don't want them to get together--and I'm really hating the whole "Marshall is the only one who truly knows Mary" vibe.

*shakes fist at USA and pouts a lot*
ALSO. Eleanor + Mary + CJ = My tv would be happy.

Dude. They were Brotp and everything, and adorable, in their own way.
I wish Netflix would put up s3 of Primeval. eta: I just checked and it is up now. AHAH. (hahahahah)
