lyssie: (Kelly is more awesome than you.)

Oh, goodness, it really is Friday.

1. I heard Lady Gaga's 'Bad Romance' the other day and kept expecting it to have the chorus of 'Pokerface' as they sound ridiculously similar in melody, or do to my untutored ear. Which I suppose makes Gaga the new Nickelback.

2. Last week, I attempted to watch Spartacus: Bored and Blah, and managed only two episodes. I waited rather desperately for something to happen to no avail. Even when Cylon Xena showed up, nothing got interesting.

3. So I watched the pilot of Xena this week, and was highly amused and entertained.

4. Have made it through the Zagreus audio in the Big Finish line. It was... amusing? Yes, amusing. I was expecting it to be more boring and annoying and all about Gallifrey Politics (which I loathed when I was reading frelling Virgin, you know), and it mostly wasn't. *adds Gally to dictionary in firefox* ALSO. Benny and Ace were animatronic animals and Seven was Walt Disney. HOW COULD THAT NOT BE FABULOUS?

5. I've been re-reading Death & Diplomacy, and Benny's voice is indisputably Lisa Bowerman's in my head. (the text, however, ends up being read in India Fisher's. I wonder if this mean's I've heard too many Charley audios?)

6. They've shut down North 45/894 where it goes over 94 (because it's falling apart, hahahaha), which now adds five minutes to my commute because the detour goes onto 94, off on 84th and back onto 94 west. BAH. Oddly, the evening commute isn't any worse.

It took about a year of Benny audios before Lisa Bowerman replaced Julie Andrews as the voice of Benny.

I've noticed that whenever Big Fish does a Multi-Doctor story, Doc7 always sounds like a Dirty Old Man (not that there's anything wrong with that!) His "Walt Disney" was quite wonderful. Heh.

I am hoping that their presence will improve matters.

I was curious, as I'd seen people talk about it, and it's on netflix streaming.

Xena was during my heavy SF phase, and I wasn't all that interested. I've seen episodes over the years, of course. But never all of them, and never from the beginning.

"Zagreus" is one of those audios that I remember being as TOTAL CRACK and don't actually remember most of what happened or how it all got resolved. (Wasn't Eight telling the Cheshire cat he was dead or something? Or am I confusing that with his version of "Shada" where he also plays dead?)

I really want to listen to more of the Benny audios, but I can't even keep up with the DW audios I want to listen to. Sigh.

Bwah. I don't think I ever had a voice for Benny before? I mean, I probably had Ace and Sylv in my head for their bits, but not so much Benny.

YES. I have noticed a bit of that, m'self.

1. I think they're both ok? I don't find either to have really incredible lyrics, but I don't really care. (I do find Nickelback a bit offensive, at least)

3. heh. I needed something with women in it that wasn't going to make me SAD and ANGSTY. And I'm picky, and I wanted something I hadn't actually seen before.

To be honest, I find both pretentious.

Yes, there was the Cheshire cat and Alice-y stuff, ALSO, there was the whole Schroedinger's Doctor bit. It was hilarious crack.

Aw. I'm only managing because I can do about three a day at work, since they're interesting enough to keep me entertained and not falling asleep.

Yes! Schroedinger's Doctor! Such a cracky, cracky story.

Yeah, I can sometimes listen to music depending on what I'm working on, but I know if I brought actual stories to listen to I'd either completely ignore them due to my work or be so absorbed in the story I'd forget to work. I'm just not good at that kind of multi-tasking.
