Yes, I finally caught up on In Plain Sight
And I have thoughts.
*flails*
I really hope we're going to get a "this is what Raph does with his life now" episode. Possibly one where he teaches under-privileged kids to play ballhe would so totally do that.
His decision to retire makes sense. For those wondering, the injury he received last year is, iirc, the same one Kara Thrace is rumored to have gotten which got her knocked out of the running for the pros. Being a pro athlete is hard on the body, and I'm glad he made the decision to get out before he'd damaged himself even further.
That he is willing to spend the rest of his life with Mary--and has known that for years--is just mind-boggling. In a good way.
That she hasn't scared him off like she has every other man, that he knows almost as much about her as Marshall does--
And that Mary isn't going to let him go easily anymore than she would have let Marshall go in season one--
Just. It makes me flail, because Mary does believe all that shit about commitment. And as much as it can seem like she hasn't thought about it, some part of her obviously has. Raph is willing to marry her, and he's not the kind of guy who's going to walk out when things get rough (he certainly hasn't yet).
I just never thought they'd let her say yes.
I think Ron Moore broke my ability to hope. (and if I talk about the similarities between Kara/Sam and Mary/Raph we will be here all day)
Oh. And I love that Mary's family might actually be growing and healing and coming to terms with things. I'm a wee bit worried about Jinx, but she seems all right (also, I bet there's deleted scenes).
ack. late.
