You know I'm catching up on some of your Kara/Sam stuff in my odd moments and I'm more than a little freaked out about the turn of the actual show now.

I agree I didn't see a lot of it comin' thats for sure and the previews for next week were to short and left my head spinning in overdrive and hypothesizing up a storm about everything!!
the temple/opera house/colony, is Boomer going to help to save Hera and not Athena? if you think about the visions~
Laura and Hera are still connected ~
Loved that they got stoned in Sickbay ~
Lee finally got a pair for a moment~
The people of the fleet are idiots to say the least~
and Baltar... well is being Baltar~

Well, to be fair, I wrote the hybrid stuff to piss off the Kara/Lee shippers who were using it as a pet theory. (I really didn't expect them to take this cheap SF way out, but there it is)

25 minutes to go. Christ. (Also, thank you for the warning. I think Michael would have been very cross if I'd thrown the remote at his tv.)

WELL, TECHNICALLY, they did have that suicide pact on Caprica. About the farms. BUT THIS IS NOT THE SAME THING OMG.

And you're welcome.

I remember so very little from the Caprica episodes. I should go back and watch them again. My terrible memory, sigh.

Helo is breaking my heart into a thousand tiny pieces. :(

I still think Sam is going to wake up, Micheal Trucco described Sam's ending as "Awesome" at Comic-Con I don't think he say that about this.

OH HELO.

If I forget about all of the out-of-character moments and the wasted screen-time, I can kind of like this episode...

The Sam/Kara moments were both beautiful and heartbreaking as poor Sammy is now a hybrid. Hopefully, he'll have at least one rational moment with Kara before the end...or he'll be de-hybrid'ed and they'll live happily ever after with their many dead-chick/cylon babies:)

Adama's got some nerve, and yeah, I was waiting for the slugging too. Which never came. Hello, you ASSHOLE. Your grown-up son died and was buried six years ago. His preschooler got abducted a few DAYS ago, and is probably still alive, though quite possibly being experimented on. She's not dead. Even if they suspect she is, they don't know for sure. They have no body, they don't have the slightest clue where she is or what's happening to her right now. Honestly, this may actually be worse for Helo and Athena as parents than the first time they "lost" Hera. At least then they believed she was dead, didn't know she could still be out there, scared and in pain and basically being a SMALL CHILD. It's not over, and how he could even think that just amazes me. God alfrakkingmighty. Where does Adama get off spouting that shit? And Helo APOLOGISES?????? I'd put it down to him being too much in shock to really focus on the horrible things Adama is saying, but I have a feeling the writers expect us to sympathise with Adama. Ugh. At this point I hope Helo and Athena just steal a ship and take off after Hera without waiting for permission. They're her fucking parents, for fuck's sake. How dare Adama be such a hypocrite, especially after his own suicide mission in Sine Qua Non? It's okay for him to go on a suicide mission after his girlfriend, but it's unacceptable for the parents of a small child to try and get her back? Fuck him.

Look, there is someone on my flist who really, really enthusiastically dislikes Helo and has done so for years. And that's okay. I embrace a diversity of opinions. And when even SHE is ranting about Adama's gall in treating Helo like that, you know he blew it big time. I thought it was my partiality for the character that was pissing me off. But after reading her outraged post, I'm thinking no, it's the damn writing.

I'll admit to being very focused on things not Helo, but, jesus god, all of that, yes.

This is the man WHO SHOT HIS WIFE SO SHE COULD GET THEIR DAUGHTER BACK.

[identity profile] frolicndetour.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 07:32 am (UTC)(link)
YES YES YES to all of that. I cannot believe the FIRST thing out of his mouth was "I lost a son." Sweet Baby Gaius.
ext_117390: (angry with rage!)

[identity profile] waterdaughter.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 12:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I am a bear of very little brain at the moment, so all I can conjure up in response is big heaping piles of WORD. It just killed me how obviously in pain Helo was (the way his voice cracked when he asked to walk with him, the trembling, dear god the tears), and how cold and dismissive Adama was to him. "Suck it up", really, that's the best he can come up with? Fuck you, old man. And EXACTLY, it is nowhere near losing an adult son. I mean, yeah, I get that both situations are horrifying and painful, but like you said, this is a CHILD. One who is entirely dependent on the grace of adults to survive, and that thought is probably eating Athena and Helo alive. And to be told "eh, wouldn't do no good to go after her anyway" right then...

Earlier I was second-guessing my reaction to this, because lately bad things happening to children has been mashing my "get it out of my fucking sight" button, but just, no. And Helo apologizing just broke me, and I think I do have to fanwank it into being a response out of shock.

At this point I hope Helo and Athena just steal a ship and take off after Hera without waiting for permission.

FUCKING SIGNED.

THIS. *hugs you*

Everything you said here. So rage inducing. Don't you love how Adama makes Hera being kidnapped ALL ABOUT HIM??
