one more thought on BSG 'No Exit'

spoilers.

Boomer forgave Ellen.

One of the biggest threads of this show is that "all of this has happened before, and all of this will happen again" without forgiveness.

You know what they say about one small step for mankind?

One moment of forgiveness, genuine forgiveness (especially from Boomer who has been royally fucked) could stop the turn of the wheel.

On an entirely different note, it occurs to me (disturbingly) that you could parallel BSG with Mother Love now.

Helena Vesey = Ellen
Alex Vesey = Saul
Kit = Sam
Angela = Kara
Jordan Tennyson = Caprica (you could also go Ruth = Caprica, but Jordan's a blonde American actor with legs.)

The themes of betrayal and vengeance certainly carry across. As does the fact that Angela was stuck with her husband in a coma for months. I'm curious to see whether Ellen is as vengeful about betrayal as Helena was.

(and if Ellen tries to kill Sam by disconnecting him and the shock to the system brings him back, I will laugh my ass off)

Though, I rather doubt Ellen poisoned her schoolgirl chum for daring to go to a party at a rival's house and lying about it. But maybe she did.

I think you're right on about this being one big old Catholic redemption story. I love it. :D

you've Mother Love! one of my fav shows made by Auntie beeb ever. Diana Rigg is just fucking magnificent as LADY HELENA VESEY! Still have on video tape have to find time to transfer to dvd. Watching this tomorrow night, I will have to watch closely to see the parallels between Ellen and Helena. Mind you Helena doesn't like cats and Ellen seemed to avoid livestock!
