When I worked for the ISP, we had a microwave link up in the UP for one of the islands...
the Sysad who had to go up there to fix a problem one day found that it was the many roasted forms of fowl and cute animals that had taken up their final resting place on the dish and in it's environs....
Not even a human could have survived a blast when it was sending data up...

So yes, microwave weapons can be very deadly.
