Toys: a Work in Progress
So. On the occasion of my birthday and all (and. toys. y'know.), Lizardbeth_j did Action Figure Theatre with the new set of BSG figures that had come out. These included pilot!Helo and Kara (eee). (there was re-enacting of, y'know, Resistance and such. ANYWAY)
And it occurred to me that I had pre-ordered the set last year (at the end of Sept, even) from a different online toystore. Since I was mostly without internets at the time, I poked their site trying to get into my account, and failed. So I emailed them, with the explicit note that I wouldn't be online until at least Thursday. I also logged into my account at bigbadtoystore.com and easily changed my shipping address in two seconds.
Now, I didn't bother checking that email until late Friday night, where I discovered they'd emailed me Monday to say, "call us!"

Yeah, dudes. No internets.
Apparently, they're not that bright over there.
So I called them last night, and just said I needed to change the address and she's all, "Oh, your order has been canceled!" So. Whatever.
I went and re-ordered at bbts, since they were easier to grok from. BUT. BUT, I have discovered that there is GOING TO BE A NEW CAPRICA MINIMATES SET. asdkdfj.
Ellen and Saul Tigh (EEE! ELLEN.) and Kara (there's three of her now, are we sure she ain't a cylon?) and. and. and A LEOBEN. My first cylon boyfriend, in minimate form! Now, the only thing that would make this set more awesome is if there was a Sam Anders (hey, guys, Kara's getting bored without his stamina, y'know). But then it would be the Tighs and the Thraces and Leoben going, "Oh god. What have I done to deserve this?" (at least until Kara and Sam dragged him off for some ot3 action)
In the larger action figures, series three is Razor--Gina, Kendra (eee!), an oldskool Cylon and wee!Billy Adama. And series four is MOM AND DAD. Oh, and Cain and Lee in a suit. What, do they want us to re-enact large portions of season two?
To top it off, they've done two mini-sets, one with D'Anna and Boomer (yay!) and the other with Lee and Dualla.
Sometimes, I think the toymakers don't follow the show. I mean, you'd think they'd realize that Kara and Lee are the heart and soul and make a mini-set with them. And yet. Really, though, I assume they get a list of characters and go, "Hey, they're married, let's do them as a set!"
I'm not sure how they got D and Boomer, though. Maybe because they're the angrier, more into killing all of the humans Cylons? While at the same time not being Cavil...
Also, it makes me sad that the minimates have been pretty equal, in terms of putting out the women. But the bigger toys have sorta sucked. The first series was Tyrol, Helo, Anders, Lee and two version of Six. Luckily, the later ones have made up for that. (series two is Kara, Kat, pilot!Helo and a Centurion)
Maybe they were still stuck at "girl figures don't sell as well". Which. Is kinda sad. I'm pretty sure Lee Adama sold the least action figures.
