sff: At least it isn't a tornado editio
Doctor Who: I was hoping Donna would be win.
BSG: Racetrack in tanks, and Skulls looming over her. *makes grabby hands* (she's so wee and tiny!)
I actually don't have much to say about Who. It was cute and light. Fluffy. Unimpressed with Rose showing up at the end, though. *eyeroll*

Ok. I'm sure, somewhere, there are people gleeful about a pointless episode about religious freedoms, but. No. Not interesting, sorry.
You know what, though? It's ok. Because we got Chief's incredibly shitty rant about Cally. As if the past week hasn't been bad enough for female characters, BSG cuts the legs out from under another one.
MOST FEMINIST SHOW ON TV MY SHINY WHITE ASS, YOU MOTHERFUCKERS.
My opinion of Jane Espenson's writing skills just dropped deep into the toilet. I'd appreciate her not destroying more women, please.
Actually, the two most interesting bits of the episode:
1. ALMOST KILLING RACETRACK IS NOT ON, YOU MOTHERFUCKERS.
2. Sam watching Kara sleep is slightly wacky, but sweet. Sam, honey, wake her up and put her to bed. Preferably with you draped around her.
3. One more. I noticed an attempt to put more PoC in the backgrounds and scenes. It's even more glaring when you watch the Skiffy movie of the week commercial, which is more white than white paint on freshly-fallen snow in the middle of the arctic.
Next week might cause ranting. We'll see.
eta: OH YES. AND WOMEN DO NOT COME WITH HEALING VAGINAS, YOU GUYS. Caprica Six? Also on my list of things I'm pissed about. Her motivations are all about boys now, ISN'T THAT AWESOME????
I love how they hinted at allowing the women to interact more and then, y'know, STOP THAT IDEA RIGHT QUICK.
ps. Tigh is obviously taking care of Hera and Nicky both, now.

Gah. Watching this ep made me feel dirty.

I want to not hate this show, and... I would like my wacky crack back, please. :/

Heh.

I've always hated the fact that all of the "feminist" rage for Galen hitting Cally and then marrying her fell squarely on her shoulders. Because she forced him to marry her with her evil feminine wiles.
God, I hate Espenson for taking a crappy Jacob recap and putting it on my tv.

I just watched the ep, and, OUCH, that is SO APT. (And Edward James Olmos directed it.)

I was so pleased they were going to do something with her, but, no, instead, she's gonna heal a man of his problems. On top of that, all of her motivation is now apparently about learning from pain and Baltar.

Argh. It makes everything so damned skeevy. :/
And Cally did not force him, dammit! All those bits and pieces through season three show them as being a fairly stable, happy couple. And the UB flashbacks are most definitely happy. *kicks things*

Sigh. You know, the last active thing Caprica did was kill Boomer. How sad is that?

Tory does seem very much like a Six knockoff, which is a little disappointing. :/
i was very weirded out by the "boiled cabbage" smell thing... it made me think of the racist language re: the irish in america, and really didn't seem necessary. it also struck me as the most out of character thing.
Yeah, weren't Cally and Chief both supposed to be lower-class? Though I thought on Galactica everyone ate the same algae, so it was very out of place, and just fits all the "dirty" "trashy" adjectives fandom liked to throw at her. *sigh*

I have no brain for more ranting about the episode. Sigh.

Does it make Cally any less dead? No, and that sucks. But my read was kinda the opposite of what you're saying here.

Also?
PUNCHING Adama would have been way better at getting himself punished. But, y'know, there wasn't enough misogyny in this episode, so they had to add some more.
Actually, punching Adama, starting a fight, actually fucking taking responsibility and quitting would have been far faster at getting him removed.
Instead, he'd rather blame a woman.
How fucking progressive.

All good points. And you are correct. Mea culpa.

Putting women in refrigerators is usually done for the purpose of fucking up men's lifes.

But we're a tiny fandom compared to SPN or HP, and the vocal minority of stupid is sometimes deafening.
But, still, if I could kill people with my brain? Smaller fandom.

Haha. That's what I said. Uncle Saul's Nursery School for Half-Cylon Tots.

Seriously. That's the real reason he's missing Ellen: she would have been a distraction from diapers and formula.

I'm distracted by the idea of Mel and Rose teaming up to save the universe, however.
