Sharma recalled that Tory originally had no backstory, but that she got to be a part of creating it with Ron Moore. As for her crying during sex incident, the actress says that scripter Michael Angeli knew someone once who did that, so Sharma somehow wound up "carrying that torch." Her personal choice regarding that scene was to frame it as her not being happy to be in bed with "the guy who ruined her life on New Caprica."
Which is made more awesome by Trucco then leaning over and noting that Tory didn't cry when sexing Anders, to which Sharma replied "HELL NO".
