CAMPING!

We should do it. At some point.

C'mon, I know there are those of you who like camping. Wouldn't a weekend away from the computer, stuck in the wilds of somewhere with other ficcers/friends be, well, fun?

It would for me.

So, let me know, people. I'd like to organise something this year. Maybe for late summer/early fall, or after October. Worse comes to worse, we can plan for next year around May....

Actually, been wanting to do that for ages. And I know of several nice campground here in WI... we have a hell of a lot of state and national parks. Definitly should try it...

Would wireless broadband and laptops be allowed?
And don't forget the WS TV and DVD player...
Oh, and who'd have to carry the hottub?

Oh, yes. I'd forgotten all that stuff.

No LANs on this camping trip!
;)

We could try for a large network, though.... Maybe hardwire into the WWW....

Hey, I'd be in if I was in the area during Walkabout - road trips aside, October could be a free-ish kinda time. Gotta check, but put me in as a tentative should things occur? I've got _lots_ of practice in camping, and I've got a first aid certificate as well, just in case. Just don't expect me to navigate - wrong hemisphere plays havoc with my sense of direction. ;)o

Cool. Heh. Now to plan this thing...

I would LOVE camping...but where? Up there? If we could bring it down a state or two, it'd still be within decent driving distance for some of the DC area folks. Maybe New York? *blinks* I need a map, because I have NO sense of distance or geography....

And I wanna visit with Lyssie, Timey and the other cool folks I don't get to see that often. :)

Camping...would this involve dressing up and acting like Kenneth Williams? (Carry On fans will get that one)
My idea of camping is room service and a hotel room....... :)
If i could make it i guess i'd be game for it......humidity and bugs..sounds like Florida

If I were still in the Midwest and not tucked in a dusty cave in the Southwest I'd be all for it. I'd even bring the fire paste. Great stuff, that. A few dabs of that and you can set a metal box aflame.

All you need for camping is a tarp, some rope, something to make fire with, and a some food.

Anyway camping is good, wanted to do that this summer, but no time for it, need to work.

Aim for Nebraska or Iowa, middle of the nation, that would be central, though maybe not convenient (sp?) for everyone.
