If I could go back in time, I would call in sick this morning. I ate right before bed last night and spent the whole day sick to my stomach (but not puking! Oh, no, not puking), and surrounded by the smell of food, because there was a breakfast thing at work today.

People need to stop telling me the shit Ron Moore says. No, really. I don't need confirmation that the man is a misogynistic asshole. I can figure that out from his treatment of his female characters all on my fucking own.

Empire Records might make everything better.

If she hadn't gotten married, I wouldn't be as annoyed by it. But getting married to a guy who loves her and then continuing to sleep around on him makes no sense--

I love the idea that Kara loves sex as much as a guy. But from the way it's portrayed, it's not that. She just uses sex to Hide Her Deep Pain, or something.

It was something prolix_allie pointed out, once. Every time Kara wants to show how dysfunctional she is, she fantasizes about other men during sex.

Oh, Ron is just the one who bears the brunt of my annoyance. The others need to be bitch-slapped, too.

Kara defensive mode is obviously engaged. ;) (The deleted scenes are wrenching.) But are you talking about the Eye of Jupiter podcast? Because I agree that was on crack... though I don't know if he was gleeful, exactly. But on the UB extended podcast he doesn't say anything like that at all - in fact there's a scene where Kara goes to wake up Sam and almost starts to cry right before Tigh interrupts her. And Ron and the and the other writer talk about the remorse she feels for both Lee and "this man who's at least her lover." And they talk about yeah, she's doing horrible things here but she is someone who honestly doesn't know how to act when she's conflicted and dealing with these sorts of emotions. It seemed to me that they definitely weren't out to portray her as liberated and awesome or, on the other hand, as a horrible slut.

IOW, don't believe everything you read in ...places. If my guess is correct. ;)

I've read breakdowns of a few. *shrug* Basically, between that, canon in general, and Ron's intent as a whole, that I don't actually write canon Kara and Sam. I need to start making a note about that. I suspect people might want to be warned for OOCness.
