I discovered pants.
Man. Voting is not a group activity, is it. You don't get up a group of you and go wander down to the polls and then sit around, leaning against the wall smoking French cigarettes and randomly quoting poetry (or Star Wars), do you?
It's more of a solo thing. You go, you sign things, you do your thing and you are in and out as fast as possible (maybe this is why I like girls more).
And in the end, you discover that, walking that block and a half in the freezing cold, on snow and ice, was probably not a bad thing. Even if it doesn't count anymore than it did four years ago.
Driving would have been a waste of gas, btw, and since we closed at 100 bucks a barrel today, I didn't see the point. Not to mention there really wasn't anywhere to park, thanks to the snow, the tenants already living there, and everyone else needing to park.
I do have to give points to the guy running for alderman who was standing out there, in the cold, chatting people up as they went in and out. He got my vote. It's cold, man. Of course, if it turns out he's a racist sexist baby-killer, I suppose I'll feel awful. On the other hand, maybe he'll freeze things off.
There would be a picture here of the awesome scarf
karma_aster knit for me a year ago, never knowing the extreme cold we'd get, or the snow, but alas, I cannot find the camera cord. Suffice to say, I would have frozen cheeks and lungs were it not for that baby.

I do it just to pick up chicks. It works far better than the boys who hang out near the deli/baked goods section of my grocery store.
Hee.

Yay, for voting!

Also, our icons should totally make out.

Our primary's not until 3/4, but we have early voting the two weeks before. One of the polling places is the old courthouse, so that's much more convenient for me than my polling place I'd have to go to on election day. I'll probably vote sometime this week.

Blankets. I need more blankets.
Oooh. That is totally lucky and convenient (and in not-winter, ours is totally convenient, too)

Besides, I don't know any weather-witches. Sigh.
