so., um. snow.

Yeah, so, we kidnapped an [livejournal.com profile] arrshley yesterday. We are... not the best of kidnappers, as we called to warn her in advance. So, tonight, we were going to take her home.

It's been snowing all day, small flakes that, from the looks of the rooftops we can see from the second floor, weren't really accumulating that thickly. Ah, no. No, they were. On getting out the back door, we discovered nearly six inches had fallen. More, since I cleared what looked like eight inches off my car.

Driving was awful. It was slick and fluffy snow, so it was just like driving in pocket lint...

We got about a half mile down the road in the fairy-dust crap and turned back. We has an [livejournal.com profile] arrshley for another night.

And it's still coming down. please can it snow another six inches so I can call into work?

O_o

I think they get less snowfall in the Yukon, don't they? :P

They get just a dusting here and people think Armageddon has arrived. It's insane.

Dude, I'm not sure you'd make it, I think the airport might be closed.

[identity profile] alryssa.livejournal.com 2008-01-22 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I think you need to invest in a snow plough and just be done with it at this point...

[identity profile] alryssa.livejournal.com 2008-01-22 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think anyone can FIND the airport. "We'll get back to you... when we've dug it back out. From wherever the hell we left it. Which could be a while."

Snow doesn't seem to like us here so much. Mostly the raining, the howling of the wind. Temperature fluctuations, confusion of the wildlife. who for some bloody reason seem to think its spring outside of my bedroom window at 2am in the morning. Thus interfering with the small amount of sleep I manage to grab. Damn bloody global warming. Elsewhere on a lovely isle we are experincing floods all over the place. Are we prepared. Course not. It is not in the emergency plans!
Your snow looks pretty but dangerous. Be careful.

hee! Y'all beat our "snow" here....

It was such a horrible snow storm that the weather guys were predicting - the sidewalk in front of my building was barely covered & it took only a few minutes to clean off the car this am. :-p

We will see how the weekend looks - apparently Thurs/Fri is our next shot for snow again. I will believe it when I see it.

(Also - me using proper tags would help a lot. D'oh! :-p)

I've been extra-careful. It was slippery shit.

Yah. Mom said there was nasty ice (she couldn't get up the hill this morning). But not much snow.

Bleh. They're predicting MORE snow tomorrow.

I had 5 minutes of sleet last night - like literally.

I drove over to wally (2.5 mi) and it was sleeting... when we came back out, it had stopped. That was it.

Then, there was the dusting of snow on my car. I don't mind that - it's better than the golf ball sized hail I had the other week. That was freaky - seeing hail that big & in January no less!

After this last storm I can safely say I will be happy if I never see snow again. Which will mean moving. But at this point I can live with that.

hahahah. Yeah. It's supposed to snow today. I'm not looking forward to it.

Well it's not snowing here (yet) so you have just enough time to get to work without the white death falling from the sky.

I'm sure you're thrilled. :P

I missed the snow this morning, but got stuck in traffic due to the 94 million accidents that were in the Milwaukee metro area this morning. WTF, Milwaukee drivers, WTF?

That was ok, though! I caught the snow coming home!

WTF, Milwaukee drivers, WTF?
When you discover the answer to that question please let the rest of the world know!

Oh joy.
