So, since I'm coughing up a lung...

1. Some of you may've heard about the furor caused by the Mary Jane statuette. Or maybe you haven't. But those 16 pages of comments are an enlightening look at how obnoxious most fanboys are. Seriously. A woman had an opinion, and they went ape-shit.

2. FanLib. I got an invite ages back, took a look at the site, and went, "Meh." Mostly because I'm lazy. I can't even remember to keep my ff'net account updated, y'know? However, apparently their TOS is kinda skanky, not to mention their treatment of fans. (note to professional companies: don't piss fandom off. It looks bad when you're featured on Fandom_Wank)

3. More proof that the real world is fucked up. (Thank you, Joss Whedon)

The world has gone totally insane today.

1. This is the first I've seen of the Mary Jane thing. First of all they need to send the guy that sculpted that to art school because her torso is completely out of proportion of the rest of her body. But I sssooooo love the juxtaposition of the trailer trash thong showing and the June Cleaver pearls. *shakes head* Y'know, to be honest I've always kinda fascinated by the 40s and 50s cheesecake pinup stuff and I guess they were maybe going for that feel. This just feels utterly demeaning to me. It's not like I'm a huge Mary Jane fan. I really don't give her much thought, but...just no...

2. I got an invite too and checked out some of the fic posted there. They mostly seemed very bad in any case.

3. This disturbs me beyond words. Can I move to another planet please?
